Domestic Violence

What is Domestic Violence?

Domestic violence is violence or other abuse by one person against another in a domestic setting, such as in marriage or cohabitation. It mostly occurs in a marriage or relationship and most of the time women are the ones being abused by their partners.

How it all started?

Domestic Violence started back in the stone ages with men punishing their wife if something was not done right or if they dared to disobey their husbands, and as the years went on men thought that this was not an incorrect action. In the late 90's domestic violence became such danger to women and sometimes to men that a law was passed by the United States in 1990.

Church Involvement

Churches play a big role in men's mindset that women have to submit to them and should be punished if they don't. In churches domestic violence is ignored, while in reality it's becoming a bigger problem, but priests continue to ignore the issue because to them divorce isn't an option. Therefore these abused women have to stay with their husband and do what ever they are told to do in order to have a perfect relationship.
